Goalkeeper Fraser Forster will leave Southampton on July 1st once his contract expires, the club can confirm.
The 34-year-old departs St Mary’s after eight seasons, amassing 162 appearances in all competitions.
Signed from Celtic in 2014, the towering shot-stopper helped Saints secure three successive top-eight finishes in the Premier League and was an ever-present in the 2016/17 Europa League campaign.
Forster also kept clean sheets against Arsenal and Liverpool (twice) en route to the EFL Cup final against Manchester United, the club’s first major final in 14 years.
After returning to Celtic on loan, he was back between the sticks at St Mary’s for the first time in more than three years in 2021.
The veteran custodian made 24 appearances in all competitions last season, also earning a recall to the England squad, for whom four of his six caps have come as a Saint.
The club would like to thank Fraser for his considerable efforts and achievements during his time with Southampton and wish him well for the future.
