Armstrong up for PFA Fans' Player of the Season award

Southampton forward Adam Armstrong has been nominated for the PFA Championship Fans’ Player of the Year award.

The striker is Saints’ top scorer this season, whose 34 goal contributions (21 goals, 13 assists) is the highest tally in England’s top four divisions.

Armstrong was the worthy winner of the club’s Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the Season awards, and now has the chance to add a league-wide accolade to his collection.

The 27-year-old faces competition from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall of Leicester and Ipswich trio Leif Davis, Omari Hutchinson and Sam Morsy.

Leeds pair Ethan Ampadu and Crysencio Summerville are also on the shortlist, along with the Championship’s 27-goal leading marksman Sammie Szmodics of Blackburn.
