A Shirt That Defined an Era. Introducing the Blackout
We are proud to unveil the Blackout ‘93 - ‘95 Shirt. A modern recreation of one of the most recognisable kits in the Club’s history.
First worn between 1993 and 1995, the original PONY home and away shirts were part of a defining period for the Club. As English football entered a new era, Saints wore these designs in moments that have since become part of club folklore. Clean, confident and unmistakably Southampton, the kits remain instantly recognisable to supporters who lived through that time.
This blackout rendition stays true to the design of the originals, drawing inspiration from their clean structure and distinctive detailing, while reworking the look into a bold, all-black colourway. It’s a statement piece that blends nostalgia with contemporary style, equally at home on matchdays or beyond.
To mark the launch, Club legends Matt Le Tissier and Francis Benali reunite wearing the shirt they wore during their playing careers. Both men represented Southampton throughout the mid‑90s and embody the commitment, identity and pride associated with that era.
