Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce that it has appointed Charlie Boss as its new Chief Commercial Officer.

Charlie joins from The Jockey Club, one of the UK’s largest sports businesses, where he led their Commercial team incorporating strategy, partnerships, conferences & events and business development. He joined The Jockey Club in 2021 from Disney where he was Commercial Director for Sports across Europe and Africa. He also led ESPN’s UK office.

Prior to this he was Head of Marketing, Commercial & Strategy for ESPN for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and has worked at the RFU and The FA, where he managed the marketing and sponsorship of The FA Cup with Budweiser.

His role at Southampton will see him report into CEO Martin Semmens and build on the commercial growth the club has enjoyed in recent years, bringing valuable experience and energy to oversee a new and exciting era for the club’s off-the-pitch activities.

Henrik Kraft, Chairman of Southampton FC said: “We are delighted to welcome Charlie Boss to Southampton Football Club as our new Chief Commercial Officer.

“We have a burning drive to deliver the most exciting and entertaining fan engagement solutions to our supporters, powered by the most innovative technology in the industry. Charlie’s background and track record of combining sports content and technology with venue management, hospitality and commercial partnerships will bring all the skills needed to lead our commercial team.

“We are looking forward to getting started together."
