With the FIFA World Cup break beginning, Southampton’s lower-league loanees took centre stage last weekend with Dan Nlundulu registering a match-winning assist. All this and more in this week’s Loan Watch…

The 23-year-old striker played over an hour for Cheltenham Town in SkyBet League One, and set up the only goal of the game in an important 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers.

In the 26th minute, Nlundulu picked the ball up in midfield and drove forward, finding Alfie May who curled in a fantastic strike which was enough to secure three points for the Robins as they move up to 18th in the table.

Elsewhere in League One, Caleb Watts played 45 minutes for Morecambe as they fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against an in-form Lincoln City side.

Down a division in SkyBet League Two, Dynel Simeu had an unfortunate afternoon for Tranmere Rovers as he received a red card in a 2-0 defeat against AFC Wimbledon.

He has been an important mainstay in the Rovers side, however, and immediately expressed his apologies with a mature response as he looks to return to his impressive performances after suspension.

In Non-League, Jake Vokins had the chance to face higher division opposition in the Emirates FA Cup for Woking.

The Cards hosted Oxford United on Tuesday night, and Vokins was introduced as a 75th minute substitute as his side were only narrowly beaten 2-1 by their League One opponents.

Vokins continues to gain vital experience for the in-form Vanarama National League outfit who are still firmly in the playoff places as they sit fourth in the table.

Down a division in the National League South, Saints B’s Jack Bycroft and Will Tizzard both enjoyed winning weekends in the Isuzu FA Trophy Second Round.

Bycroft made a vital save in the closing stages as his Taunton Town side held on to knock out Dulwich Hamlet with a 2-1 win.

Meanwhile, Tizzard played the full 90 minutes for Chippenham Town as they travelled to Hastings United and returned with a 2-1 win to reach the competition’s Third Round for the first time in their history.
