Southampton will be looking to end their winless streak when West Ham visit St Mary’s on Sunday.

It’s been a difficult run for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side who fell to a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City last time out in the league, having not secured victory at home since their 2-1 win over Chelsea in August.

It’s been a busy period for the visitors who have been in both league and Europa Conference League action.

Despite going behind early on to Fulham last time out, goals from Jarrod Bowen, Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio ensured a 3-1 victory at London Stadium.

Moussa Djenepo will miss out on Sunday’s showdown at St Mary’s, while Tino Livramento remains Saints’ only long-term absentee.

Roméo Lavia could return to first team training as early as next week after an extended period on the side lines.

For the visitors, manager David Moyes will have to assess the fitness of Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson after they were forced off in West Ham’s 2-1 victory over Anderlecht.

He could be boosted by the return of Michail Antonio, Thilo Kehrer and Kurt Zouma who missed out on Thursday’s Europa League clash.

“I can only speak about the atmosphere we had in the last home game and it was exactly as it should. 90 minutes supporting the team. Also in the away game against Man City they were supporting us until the last minute."

“We’ve had a couple of years where we’ve done well against Southampton and then recently, they’ve done well against us, but the Premier League is like that. There doesn’t seem to be an awful lot between the teams and anyone can beat anyone on their day.”

Having found the back of the net from the penalty spot twice last season against Sunday’s opposition, the Saints skipper will be looking to refind his form in front of goal.

West Ham’s leading goal scorer this season, the striker has scored in two of his last three appearances for David Moyes’ side as they look to make it five unbeaten.
