Nathan Tella added another goal to his Burnley tally in an emphatic 5-1 victory over Wigan in the Championship. This and more in this week’s Loan Watch …

Scoring three goals in his first two starts for the club, the 23-year-old has effortlessly settled into life at the Lancashire outfit.

With former Saint Jay Rodriguez opening the scoring at the DW Stadium, the goals kept on coming for the Clarets with Tella adding a third upon 51 minutes. Burnley now sit sixth in the current Championship standings, with six games played.

In a double game week, Vincent Kompany’s side also secured their place in the third round of the Carabao Cup, with Nathan Tella being introduced as a half-time substitute against League One’s Shrewsbury.

Caleb Watts played a pivotal role in Morecambe’s victory over Rotherham in the Carabao Cup, with the 20-year-old coming off the bench shortly before providing the assist for Arthur Gnahoua’s winner.

In League One, Dan Nlundulu once again played the full 90 minutes for Cheltenham Town against Oxford United.

It was a narrow defeat for Wade Elliot’s side, who conceded the equaliser just minutes after taking the lead at Whaddon Road. With a red card for either side adding to a drama filled afternoon, it was United who emerged victorious with an 86th minute goal from the penalty spot the difference.

Kegs Chauke and Exeter City narrowly missed out on a place in the third round of the Carabao Cup in midweek, with the youngster coming off the bench in the cup tie.

With the game ending 0-0, a place in the next round fell to penalties, with Gillingham netting six to City’s five.

Thierry Small also had a substitute appearance this week, coming off the bench in Port Vale’s 1-0 defeat to Pompey.

Elsewhere, Jack Bycroft retained his place in between the sticks at Taunton Town, with the Somerset outfit picking up a 3-1 victory over Chippenham Town.

Bycroft also kept a clean sheet against St Albans in midweek, with Taunton picking up another point on the road.

Kazeem Olaigbe made his second successive start for Ross County and despite a disappointing defeat to Rangers, the 19-year-old got to play in front of a 48,000 strong crowd at the Ibrox Stadium, playing a crucial role in his development.
