Saints Social Club to open this weekend
Southampton Football Club’s Main Club Partner, SportsBet.io will be officially opening the Saints Social Club.
Saturday 27th August, opening at 10am
The Northam Social Club, 117 Northam Road
Hosted by Sportsbet.io, the event will be completely free to attend and open to all fans on a first come first served basis. With a total capacity of 300, fans will be able to soak up the atmosphere in the build-up to the game against Manchester United by enjoying a pre-match drink and can return after the game for a special Q&A hosted by Tom Deacon with Saints legends Franny Benali and Nigel Adkins. The Q&A will take place at 4pm and there will also be a performance from Saints Brass at 2.30pm.
Please note that the Saints Social Club will be a cash bar only. Any under-18s wishing to attend the launch will need to be accompanied by an adult.
At the launch, fans will need to provide their details on arrival and will be given a free Saints Social Club membership card, which will give access to all future Saints Social Club events, including every Southampton FC matchday.
In November 2021, Southampton Football Club announced that its Main Club Partner, Sportsbet.io, had launched a first-of-its-kind Crypto Fan Fund, donating two Bitcoins to be spent on a fan-led initiative.
Following a fan-led vote, it was decided to use the funds to refurbish the existing Northam Social Club and turn it into the ultimate Southampton FC fan pub, complete with striking artwork and Saints memorabilia.
The designs also include a stunning stained-glass artwork of Southampton heroes past and present, including Alan Shearer, James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond. It will be the perfect gathering place for fans ahead of games on matchday while also serving as a social hub for Southampton in the community during the week. The site will still be owned and managed by the proprietors of the Northam Social Club.
International fans won’t be left out either, with international fan groups able to experience the atmosphere of the Saints Social Club through the magic of Virtual Reality. VR headsets have been donated to dedicated fan clubs abroad.
The donation of the two Bitcoins and transformation of the Northam Social Club consolidates Sportsbet.io’s ongoing commitment as the main club sponsor of Southampton Football Club.
