A delighted Ché Adams hailed the Southampton's squad's "very, very big character", after his brace helped his side come from behind to grab victory at Leicester City.

After a goalless and largely uneventful first-half Leicester took the lead midway through the second, James Maddison curling a free-kick into the back of the net on 54 minutes.

Adams came off the bench five minutes later, and it took him just nine minutes to equalise, before producing a superb acrobatic finish for the winner during the final minutes.

For the Scotland international, it was an afternoon he was "delighted" with: "We have a very, very big character. We’ve got a young squad with us and everyone’s just trying to learn their trade in football.

everyone is delighted and I'm sure we'll enjoy today.

on victory at Leicester

"In the Premier League no game is going to be easy so to pick up as many points as we can, away from home especially; come the end of the season it’ll be massive for us.

"I thought the first one might have been an own goal, knowing my luck! But happy to score for the team and help the team as much as a I can.

"Then when you’re with Prowsey he’s going to put it wherever you want it to be. That was the dangerous spot at the time and I was there to put it in the net. I’m happy that I was there and happy to do that."
