Looking to move five unbeaten in the Premier League when Norwich visit St Mary’s on Friday night (8pm GMT), manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has praised his squad’s approach to training.

Claiming a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton last weekend, Saints will look to make it 10 unbeaten on home soil when the Canaries head to the south coast.

Commenting on his squad, Hasenhüttl said: “We look very settled and very concentrated.

“The young lads have learned quick and the older ones give them good support. We have a very good atmosphere in the moment in the club and in the team.

“The sessions are on a very, very high level and maybe the highest since I'm here.

We have a very balanced squad with a lot of opportunities in other positions, so that automatically raises the quality in the sessions and gives me the chance to select the best possible group.”

Looking to exact revenge on Dean Smith’s side who claimed a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture before the turn of the year, the Saints boss knows the areas they will need to learn from.

“It was a tough game for us,” Hasenhüttl said. “We had good chances in the first half and must normally win this game, but in the end we lost because of conceding two easy goals.

“They have shown in the past games that the performance was much better than the results they have got. So you can see that there is a clear way of playing football, a clear way of how they want to play and this is not an easy game for us.”
