Hasenhüttl on organised performance

An understandably happy Ralph Hasenhüttl reflected on a 'good to watch' point at Manchester United on Saturday lunchtime, making it four points from a week of two trips to sides challenging for the top four.

After a thrilling but energy depleting 3-2 victory at Tottenham on Wednesday night, hosts Manchester United made the most of a slightly off-the-pace Saints showing in the opening moments to take the lead through Jadon Sancho on 21 minutes.

But the opener seemed to ignite Hasenhüttl's side once more; showing glimpses and arguably unlucky not to be level before the break, the equaliser eventually came through Ché Adams on 48 minutes.

Both sides had chances during the final minutes to grab all three points, but the boss was pleased with the eventual point, saying: "We needed [a lot of effort] because it's hard to take something here.

"But I think it was deserved, especially with how we came out second half.

"This is the level we want to deliver and that’s what we do that, it’s fantastic to watch. We have learned to be brave and to play good football.

"You can see it on every part of the game that we’ve tried and it’s not always working, but we tried and it’s good to watch.

"Sometimes [it’s high risk, high reward], especially against teams that have good speed up front you have to have a good defence.

"But when you are organised there’s no reason not to do it. We did it in a fantastic way. We have up front now two strikers who have fantastic quality and can score goals and the rest is working hard for them.

"We have a good balance, a good goalkeeper, everything is fantastic at the moment."
