Saints finally returned to action last weekend, coming through their first game in 2022 with a well-fought 1-0 win at MK Dons in National League Southern Premier.

Sunday's visitors Bournemouth also had a successful start to the new year last time out, beating Chesham United 2-0 away from home to keep up their promotion charge from National League Division One South West.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale's side enjoyed a comfortable evening during their first outing in the competition in the last round, seeing off Eastleigh 8-0 at Snows Stadium.

Progression was secured by the Cherries in a slightly different manner, as a bye was awarded for their quarter-final meeting at Winchester City Flyers.

LAST MEETING

The two sides last met during the 2020/21 Vitality Women's FA Cup run at the back end of 2020.

Goals from Rachel Panting and a double each for Ella Pusey and Lucia Kendall ensured of a comfortable progression for Spacey-Cale's side at Bournemouth.

Saints went on to reach the fifth round of the competition, eventually bettered only by Super League side Birmingham City away from home.

"It's a good opportunity in the hat for another cup competition," said technical coach Lauren Phillips, "it's an important cup competition for us to give players different experiences.

"We'll need to utilise the squad ahead of a busy run of fixtures for us. We'll be looking at giving players opportunities to come into the squad and put them in the forefront of those games coming up.

"It should be a game which is competitive and full of opportunity.

"It would be great to see more fans at the game, they've been with us home and away. We've got a really good following so the more fans that can come along, the better."
