Ahead of Southampton’s match against Brighton tomorrow, fans are being encouraged to arrive at St Mary’s early with the lunchtime kick-off being shown on the concourse screens and a discount for Season Ticket holders at the kiosks.

We’re aware that, ahead of some home fixtures this season, sections of our support have been experiencing longer than expected queue times to get in to St Mary’s on a matchday.

In an attempt to understand how we can reduce queue times and provide the best possible experience for our fans, we’ve carried out some bespoke research to understand what may be causing longer queues.

The research showed that more supporters have been arriving for matches later than they have been in previous seasons, meaning more fans are attempting to enter the stadium closer to kick-off.

To help fans avoid longer wait times, we wanted to make you aware of this and to encourage fans to arrive early to avoid being caught in queues close to kick-off.

Fans arriving early at the Brighton game will benefit from being able to watch the early kick-off on our newly installed screens inside the stadium concourses, whilst Season Ticket holders will also be able to take advantage of 10 per cent off food and drink inside the stadium for the first 30 minutes after the turnstiles open.

The club is committed to providing the best possible matchday for all attending fans and will continue to review initiatives to reduce the queues experienced by fans on matchdays. We look forward to welcoming you all to St Mary’s for tomorrow’s game.
