A full 90 minutes and second England goal meant it was a successful evening's work for Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse in Andorra on Saturday.

Gareth Southgate handed the midfielder a start at Estadi Nacional where the Three Lions blew away hosts 5-0.

Ben Chilwell opened the scoring 17 minutes before Bukayo Saka emphatically finished to double the lead at the break.

Following the interval Roma's Tammy Abraham netted a third before Ward-Prowse got his stamp on the night with just over ten minutes to go.

Jack Grealish rounded off the scoring as England continued their unbeaten World Cup Qualifying campaign.

The skipper wasn't the only player on the scoresheet on Saturday night; Armando Broja coming off the bench to net Albania's winner in the 79th minute.

Replacing Myrto Uzuni on 66 minutes, the Chelsea loanee produced a superb finish to keep his country right on the tails of England with just four points fewer in Group I.

Elsewhere in the group, Saints' Jan Bednarek was an unused substitute as his Poland side thrashed San Marino 5-0 at home.

Earlier on it was a night of late drama for Ché Adams and Scotland in their World Cup Qualifier at home to Israel.

Adams started up front as the visitors took the lead twice, after five minutes and then just two after John McGinn's 29th minute equaliser.

Queens Park Rangers forward Lyndon Dykes levelled the scores for a second time for the Scots on 55 minutes before Manchester United's Scott McTominay claimed all three points in the 94th minute.

Fellow Saint Stuart Armstrong was an unused substitute on the Tartan army bench.
