Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse made his 100th consecutive Premier League appearance on Saturday.

Helping Saints collect a deserved point at reigning champions Manchester City, the midfielder becomes just the ninth outfield player to register such a run of appearances.

Within this time, Ward-Prowse last started a league game amongst the substitutes in May 2019, coming off the bench against West Ham at the end of the 2018/19 season.

Now sitting on 274 Premier League appearances for Southampton, only Claus Lundekvam (290) and Jason Dodd (329) have made more top flight outings for the club.

At the end of the 2020/21 campaign, the 26-year-old also became first midfielder to play every minute of back-to-back Premier League campaigns, collecting the Fans’ Player of the Season award in the process.
