Poland claimed an impressive victory in their FIFA World Cup European Qualifying Group I match with Albania.

With Jan Bednarek named in the starting eleven, the defender played a pivotal role in ensuring Poland’s success in front of a home crowd.

The home side fired in front after just 12 minutes through Lewandowski, before Albania equalised in the 25th minute.

Despite a spirited performance, Albania couldn’t find a way through as Poland scored a further three goals.

Victory over Albania sees Poland jump into second position, having started the night in fourth behind tonight's opposition.

Poland now face San Marino on Sunday, while they host group leaders England on Wednesday 8 September to conclude their World Cup qualifying campaign.
