B Team Preview: Saints vs Norwich
It’s opening day of the 2021/22 season for Southampton’s B Team, who host Norwich at Staplewood Campus on Sunday.

Dave Horseman’s side will be looking to kick-start their season on a positive note as they search for success in Premier League 2, Division 2.
Despite a very challenging pre-season, Saints have put in some impressive performances in the build-up to Sunday’s game.
In their opening friendly of pre-season Saints claimed a 4-1 victory over local rivals AFC Totton, before edging an impressive 2-1 win at Salisbury FC.
MANAGER’S NOTES
“It’s probably been the most difficult [pre-season] I’ve ever had,” Horseman admitted.
“We’ve obviously been shut down with COVID and had players missing consistently throughout.
“What the boys have done brilliantly is adapt and found the best solutions possible.
“We got our group back this week, we know we’ve got a tough game. Norwich are good, they play some really good stuff but we’re building nicely.
“I think some of the boys are really getting fit now and understanding what’s required of them. It’ll be a good test but the boys are really looking forward to."
“We’ve got a few leaders in there. We’ve signed a couple of new ones that have been a really good influence on the group.”
“We just can’t wait to get going and start playing regularly again.”
