Women's Report: Friendly win at Brighton

Southampton FC Women continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-0 win at Brighton and Hove Albion's Under-23s on Sunday.

In the third instalment of pre-season for Marieanne Spacey-Cale's side, Saints took the lead after 20 minutes with a trialist getting on the scoresheet.

A second followed shortly after, with Ella Pusey slotting home after 23 minutes. 

With the scoreline two goals in Saints' favour at the break Spacey-Cale brought the changes, with Alisha Ware, Shannon Sievwright and Sophia Pharoah all introduced at half-time.

Ware didn't take long to stamp her mark on proceedings, scoring the third and final goal two minutes into the new half.

More changes followed during the remainder of the game but the scoreline finished 3-0 to the visitors.

Saints starting XI: Rendell, C.Morris, Rafferty, Parnell, E.Morris, Provan, Williams (C), Rutherford, Trialist, Pusey, Panting.

Saints subs: Ware, Sievwright, Pharoah, Freeland
