WHAT’S AT STAKE?

It's been a rollercoaster season for the two sides on the south-coast, and both will be eager to secure all three points on Sunday.

Victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last weekend provided a huge boost for Saints after a particularly bad run of form in the league.

Despite losing to league leaders Manchester City in the week, Hasenhüttl’s men showed real promise in various areas of the game and will be keen to carry that momentum into Sunday’s fixture.

For Brighton, it's been a particularly difficult few weeks and they've now found themselves in a huge relegation battle since losing three games on the bounce.

They now sit level on points with 18th place Fulham and will be searching for all 3 points at St Mary’s on Sunday to help keep their Premier League status secure.

TEAM NEWS

Ralph Hasenhüttl provided a positive update on Moussa Djenepo and is hopeful he will be available for Sunday’s fixture.

The boss also confirmed Danny Ings will be out for the rest of this month’s fixtures, with the hope he will return after the international break.

moussa doesn't look that bad, hopefully he can start training by the end of the week so he can be an alternative for the weekend.

For The Seagulls, Graham Potter has confirmed Aaron Connolly will not return to action at St Mary’s.

Both Adam Webster and Tariq Lamptey are also out.

THE MANAGERS

Ralph Hasenhüttl:
“I don’t think 36 points is enough this season [to avoid relegation] because Fulham have had a good run.

We are not focusing on 36 points, but focusing on getting as many points as possible and the weekend is an opportunity to get some more."

Graham Potter: "It will be fair to say it will be one of the most intense games of the season,

They have a clear identity of how they want to play and I really respect what they’ve achieved there.”

ONES TO WATCH

Ché Adams: With Danny Ings and Theo Walcott both out, attention turns to Ché Adams who has impressed in recent weeks.

His three month goal drought ended last Saturday with a goal against Sheffield United, with him netting another one just a few days later against the current league leaders.

Adam Lallana: Despite recent results for Brighton and some injury woes this season, Adam Lallana looked back to full fitness in Brighton's 2-1 loss to Leicester last weekend.

There's no doubt he can rise to big occasions, but will the former Saint find the net on Sunday?
