Southampton Football Club is proudly displaying a “We Miss You” banner created by the Saints Disabled Supporters Association, featuring images of fans from around the world, at Staplewood Campus.

The giant banner has been placed above the entrance to the Markus Liebherr Pavilion, where it will be seen by players and staff on a daily basis.

The club has enjoyed a long and positive association with the SDSA, and was touched by the efforts the organisation went to, as well as being extremely grateful to all of the fans who took the time to contribute images.

SDSA member Jacqui Campbell explained: “At a time of great challenge for everyone and with fans missing their trips to St Mary’s, the SDSA just wanted to show its support for the players, manager and staff of Southampton FC in a way that would bring the fans together.

“We are delighted that the club have supported us by displaying our banner at Staplewood and honoured that it is now taking pride of place on the Markus Liebherr Pavilion.

“We hope that Markus would have approved and that the team are reminded on a daily basis of how much we miss them.”

As well as from the United Kingdom and Ireland, images have come in from far and wide, including France, Canada, the United States and Australia.

Each person who sent in a photo kindly donated to the SDSA’s fundraising efforts, with almost £1,000 raised, which will go towards match tickets for fans with disabilities when supporters are allowed to safely return to stadiums.
