Saints Foundation has received a grant from the Inspiring Futures programme to fund employability projects for young people who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inspiring Futures is a joint funding programme between BBC Children in Need and the Youth Futures Foundation.

Their funding will allow our staff to support young people who are furthest from the job market develop their employment potential; from improving their work-related skills to bolstering their emotional wellbeing.

Our employability projects aim to give participants the confidence and motivation to succeed in the job market. For over 5 years, our Saints Works programme has helped 16 to 25 year olds prepare for applying, interviewing and succeeding in work.

Speaking about this brilliant news for the charity, Head of Saints Foundation Greg Baker said: “We are delighted to be partnering with BBC Children in Need and the Youth Futures Foundation to extend our employment readiness projects in and around Southampton.

“As our city continues to feel the effect of the pandemic, it’s more important than ever that young people are equipped with the skills they need to enter the job market. It’s thanks to funding like this that we are ready to support vulnerable people in our community when it’s most needed.”

Saints Foundation’s new employability projects will be rolled out across 2021.
