Southampton Women’s Under-21s capped off their season by lifting the Southampton Divisional FA Cup with a dominant win over AFC Stoneham.

Saints’ youngsters put Monday night’s Hampshire Senior Cup Final disappointment firmly behind them as they fired ten goals past AFC Stoneham to end their season with some silverware.

It was a perfect start for Shannon Sievwright’s side at the Snows Stadium, as Mollie Peachey opened the scoring after just three minutes.

The first half was a lot closer than the final score suggested, however, as Saints had to wait until the half hour to extend their advantage.

Kaylee Buckingham, who found the net in Monday night’s Hampshire Senior Cup final, was on hand again, this time doubling the lead just before the 30-minute mark.

Five minutes later, Isabel Watts added the third goal to give Saints a healthy lead heading into half time.

The second half resumed with both teams battling for the game’s fourth goal, and it took until past the hour for Saints to flex their scoring muscles again.

A relentless flurry of four goals in six minutes turned the advantage into a rout as Saints put themselves out of sight in the cup final.

Watts and Buckingham both scored again, this time within a minute of eachother, before the latter completed her hat-trick four minutes after notching her brace.

Anya Lucas rounded out the ruthless spell with a finish that gave Saints their seventh goal of the evening.

Buckingham added her fourth, and Saints’ eighth, on 76 minutes to complete her scoring exploits.

Captain Kate Jeffery added her name to the scoresheet in the closing moments, converting a penalty to add further gloss to her final match before departing to America on a football scholarship.

There was still time for a 10th goal of the game to cap Saints’ success, as substitute Sofia Mallon scored just four minutes from time.

The dominant result saw Saints’ Under-21s round out their season as SDFA Cup champions.
