Find out how Southampton FC Women’s players got on during the December 2023 international break.

Laura Rafferty was in action with Northern Ireland in the UEFA Women’s Nations League, taking on Albania and the Republic of Ireland.

Rafferty started and was handed the armband as the side beat Albania 4-0 away from home. However, a tough evening saw Tanya Oxtoby’s side fall to a 6-1 defeat against neighbors the Republic of Ireland, Rafferty playing all 90 minutes.

Ella Morris and Lucia Kendall were involved with England U23s as they signed off 2023 unbeaten.

Morris started in the side’s first game against France at Clairefontaine, as they ran out 1-0 winners courtesy of an Aggie Beever-Jones goal.

The Saints winger continued her good form in an England shirt, scoring in their second game against Spain on the half-hour mark. Kendall also received 15 minutes as Emma Coates’ Lionesses fought for the 1-1 draw.

All the Saints players will be back with the team ahead of Sunday’s South Coast derby versus Portsmouth in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup at Havant and Waterlooville FC.
