The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation grants funding for Community Champions
The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation have provided a huge funding boost to our Community Champions project for the next three years.
Community Champions places Saints Foundation staff in local secondary schools full-time to help mentor and support pupils who struggle in a traditional classroom setting. They provide one to one, group, and after school sessions to bolster pupils’ aspirations and self-esteem.
Mike Dixon, Education Project Manager, said: “Our Community Champions project has a huge impact in local schools, and this funding will allow us to continue that impact, ensuring our young participants meet their potential.”
The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation will be providing £105,000 to Community Champions over the next three years, helping our Champions working outside of the curriculum to support pupils who are struggling with attendance, behaviour, self-esteem, or who struggle to engage in a traditional classroom setting.
Martina Nertney from The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation shared: “St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation is delighted to be supporting Saints Foundation and their Community Champions project - a charity and project which is making a significant difference in Southampton.
"We are passionate about supporting young people raise their aspirations and engage in education. We look forward to our support and partnership with Saints Foundation in achieving this through Community Champions.”
