Stenson wins WSL2 Save of the Month
Southampton FC Women's goalkeeper Fran Stenson has won the Barclays Women's Super League 2 March Save of the Month award.
Saints' shot-stopper kept a clean sheet against Durham - her sixth of the season - and did so with an important stretching save in added time, which won the award.
With the minutes ticking away at Maiden Castle, the hosts' forward Lucy Watson whipped in a dangerous wide free-kick, which required Stenson to backpedal and tip the ball over the crossbar under advancing pressure.
It is Saints' first individual award win of the season after a handful of nominations across the campaign.
