Southampton Football Club and Saints Foundation are proud to announce a new partnership with Say It Lad, the UK’s first anonymous voice note platform created to help men speak openly about their mental health.

The initiative will launch during Mental Health Awareness Week, with supporters attending tonight's play-off semi-final against Middlesbrough encouraged to engage with the campaign through QR codes placed on the backs of seats throughout the Northam stand.

By scanning the QR codes, you'll be directed to Say It Lad - a platform designed to remove the barriers that often stop men from opening up. Through completely anonymous voice notes, you can share your thoughts, experiences, and struggles without judgment, scrutiny, or the pressure of attaching your name to your story.

Built around honest, real-world conversations rather than clinical language or corporate messaging, Say It Lad aims to recreate the openness often found in conversations between mates at the pub or on the football terraces.

The platform offers a growing library of anonymous stories and experiences, helping men realise they are not alone in what they are going through.

Tsvetelina Georgieva, Health & Wellbeing Coordinator, from Saints Foundation said:

“Football has always been a place where people come together, speak honestly, and support one another. Partnering with Say It Lad during Mental Health Awareness Week is a powerful way to reach men where they already feel connected and comfortable. Through this campaign, we want supporters to know they don’t have to keep things bottled up, and that support and understanding are always available.”

The activation forms part of our wider commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing across the community.

Fans attending the play-off semi-final are encouraged to scan the QR codes, listen to real stories from other men, and, if you wish, anonymously share your own.
