Southampton FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Molly Pike from Leicester City, subject to FA approval.

Starting her journey down on the south coast at Dorset then Hampshire FA, the 22-year-old rose through the ranks at Chelsea, scoring 14 goals in 17 appearances as the youth team finished runners-up in the 2018/19 season.

A move saw Pike sign her first professional contract with Everton Women, winning ‘Breakthrough Player of the Season’ for the Toffees’ 2019/20 Barclays Women’s Super League campaign.

Joining struggling Bristol City on loan for the second half of the 2020/21 season, she made 11 appearances for the Robins before a move saw her head to Leicester City in July 2021 ahead of their first season in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

A youth international for England, Pike captained the Under-19s and was also part of the Under-23s squad.

On making the move down to the south coast, Pike commented:

“I'm really excited.

“The club's ambition is amazing, and I'm really excited to be a part of that.

“The style of football that Southampton plays suits me completely and it's back down south, close to home, which is also nice.”

Head Coach Marieanne Spacey-Cale was quick to praise the newest addition and what she’ll bring to the squad:

“We are delighted to welcome Molly to the club.

“Although still young Molly has a great deal of experience of playing in the WSL and internationally.

“On the pitch she will bring energy and quality with the ball.”
