Southampton manager Russell Martin has offered a positive update on the fitness of Sam Edozie, James Bree and Kamaldeen Sulemana, but reiterates the wait for a return will be "towards the end of this month."

Kamaldeen has been unavailable since the start of December, with James Bree joining him on the injury list on the 23rd having been taken off at QPR.

Add onto that Sam Edozie being withdrawn against Norwich City on New Year's Day and that's three key players missing for Martin, but a return is close.

"Nothing has changed at the moment," said the boss. "Sam Edozie has come along very nicely, but will be towards the end of this month.

"Him, James Bree and Kamaldeen. It’ll be a really similar timeframe. They’re pushing themselves really hard but it won’t be for the next couple of games that’s for sure.

Elsewhere Joe Aribo remains unavailable with the start of the African Cup of Nations imminent, with Ross Stewart and Juan Larios amongst the long-term absentees.
