Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce that youngster Ollie Wright has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2026.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper extends his time at the club he's been with for over a decade, since joining in the Under-10s age group.

After rising through the ranks and becoming a key player for the Under-21s last season, he has taken his first steps into senior football on loan during the 2023/24 campaign.

Wright enjoyed a positive spell at Bath City before suffering an injury, and returned to the National League South with Worthing after his recovery to help The Rebels reach the play-offs in the sixth tier.

Back at Staplewood, Wright has also benefitted from training around Russell Martin's first team squad of late.

Upon signing his new deal, he reflected: "It's been a rollercoaster season for me, but I'm buzzing!

"It's been a hell of a journey but I feel like this is home for me, so it's a proud moment and I've got to keep on going."

Academy Director, Andy Goldie, added: "Ollie has had a great development year on loan, which will hopefully end with play-off success with Worthing over the coming weeks.

"This contract not only rewards him for the progress he's made this season, but also provides him with time to build on the success he's enjoyed and maximise the opportunities and plan we have for him over the next two seasons."
