Nick Oyekunle signs new contract
Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce that Nick Oyekunle has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2028.
The 19-year-old striker has had a year to remember as, after initially making the step up from Under-18s football to the Under-21s squad, he was handed his first team debut and has recorded four senior appearances to date.
The all-time top goalscorer in the Under-18s Premier League made his professional debut as a late substitute against Preston North End in November 2025, and was part of the Academy cohort that powered Saints into the last 16 of the FA Cup in a memorable win over Leicester City.
After signing a contract extension last summer, Oyekunle has now signed a new deal to secure his future at the club.
On his milestone rise this season, Oyekunle said: "When I look back a year ago playing Under-18s football to now I think it's a big step up but I think I'm adapting well. I'm just ready to keep pushing and try to break into the first team."
Group Technical Director, Johannes Spors, added "Nick has made strong progress this season, performing well for the Under-21s and making his First Team debut, so this contract is a well-earned step that gives him the platform to fulfil his potential."
