WHAT’S AT STAKE?
A first defeat in 26 games for Saints meant Friday night held added importance in order to get back on track during what's proving to be an unprecedented promotion race.
With two home games in five days this week, Russell Martin's side has the perfect opportunity to build on a positive end to last week, starting with this game in hand over Leeds United.
A win for Saints would see them overtake the West Yorkshire side into second place, sitting a point above.
Hull are on a positive run of form themselves, losing just one of their last five games. Saturday seeing them secure victory at Huddersfield Town deep into stoppage time.
They currently sit eighth, just one point behind fifth placed West Brom.
TEAM NEWS
Martin confirmed that despite missing the last two games Ché Adams is to return to the side for Tuesday night.
The fitness of Flynn Downes is still in the balance, but the manager said he hopes to get his midfielder back "very soon."
THE MANAGERS
Russell Martin: "I think they've recruited very well. They're growing and trying to be the team they want to be. Liam has done a great job. Big credit to them.
"It's going to be a different game to West Brom and Bristol City, but we're looking forward to being back at home with the energy at the stadium. We enjoy being there and we have to maintain that."

ONES TO WATCH
Sam Edozie: Slowly getting back to his best after a period on the sidelines with injury, Edozie has certainly sent out a reminder of his worth in recent weeks.
In the three matches since his return he's registered a goal against Huddersfield from the bench, accrued valuable minutes with a start at Bristol City, before assisting David Brooks' winner at West Brom having been introduced 15 minutes prior. That's two goal involvements in 51 minutes when used as a sub.
Jaden Philogene: Contributing to 13 goals so far this season, the 22-year-old has been main man for the Tigers this season since signing from Aston Villa in the summer.
With an average WhoScored? rating of 7.44, including two goals in his last four games, the right winger is certainly the danger man as far as Saints are concerned.
