WHAT’S AT STAKE?

Still on a record-breaking unbeaten run that now stretches to 22 matches in all competitions, Saints will want to close in on another club record.

Prior to joining the Football League in 1920 the club went 24 league games undefeated, with Russell Martin’s side currently sat on 20.

However, if the run is to be extended this weekend then the visitors will need to claim a first win against the Millers since 1965. That victory almost came in October, but Stuart Armstrong’s early opener was cancelled out late on by Jordan Hugill’s effort.

TEAM NEWS

With the January transfer window now closed, there will be some changes to the matchday squad at Rotherham.

Charly Alcaraz completed his loan move to Serie A giants Juventus in midweek, while Mason Holgate's loan from Everton was terminated last night to allow the defender to link up with Premier League strugglers Sheffield United.

A new face in the matchday squad will be David Brooks who arrived from Bournemouth on Tuesday, with fellow winger Sam Edozie also available for selection having returned to training following a month out with an ankle injury.

Elsewhere, Russell Martin shared that Kamaldeen Sulemana and James Bree should both return from injury during this month, but the trip to Yorkshire will come too soon.

THE MANAGERS

Leam Richardson: To follow.

Russell Martin: "I think it is our job to make sure that we learned from that first game, and hopefully we did. But tomorrow's going to be different away from home. Different conditions for sure. Different manager.

"But yeah, I think the players are ready. They're ready for whatever gets thrown at them. And now they have to step over the white line and go and deliver.

ONES TO WATCH

Charlie Wyke: The deadline day signing provides a needed boost to the Millers' frontline, with eight goals in all competitions for Wigan so far this season.

Reunited with former boss Leam Richardson, Wyke returns to the Championship having made 18 appearances for the Latics last term.

Stuart Armstrong: The midfielder was Saints' hero against Watford last weekend in the FA Cup, coming off the bench to net an equaliser of the highest quality late on.

The cup strike built on two assists at Swansea the week prior, taking Armstrong's tally to one goal and three assists from his last three outings.
