Saints head into their second game of 2021 in high spirits but can they maintain momentum after their emphatic win over the Champions?

Despite a rocky end to 2020, Saints head into Saturday’s fixture 7th in the Premier League table.

Putting pressure on Manchester United and Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers’ side will be looking to continue their strong form.

With the title battle wide open, both teams are targeting victory to keep up pace towards the top of the table.

Saints are likely to be without Danny Ings who returned a positive Covid-19 test following last week's Liverpool victory.

Nathan Redmond, Jannik Vestergaard and Moussa Djenepo remain on the long-term injury list. Young forward pairing Michael Obafemi and Nathan Tella are also unavailable for selection.

Hasenhüttl has been handed a boost by the timely return of Ché Adams and Alex McCarthy.

For Leicester, both Jamie Vardy and James Maddison are back in contention after missing their FA Cup third round fixture at Stoke.

Dennis Praet is the only long-term absentee for Rodgers after the Belgian international picked up a hamstring injury on the weekend.

Liverpool (h) 1-0 (Ings)
West Ham United (h) 0-0
Fulham (a) 0-0
Manchester City (h) 0-1
Arsenal (a) 1-1 (Walcott)

Leicester City:
Stoke City (a) 0-4 (Justin, Albrighton, Pérez, Barnes) FA Cup
Newcastle (a) 1-2 (Maddison, Tielemans)
Crystal Palace (a) 1-1 (Barnes)
Manchester United (h) 2-2 (Barnes, Tuanzebe og)
Tottenham (a) 0-2 (Vardy, Alderweireld og)

"That Leicester game will always be part of our history now, but what we did afterwards and what we have done now is what makes me really proud."

“They’re very well organised. They want to play on the front foot, they want to press forward. They have quality throughout their team."

With Ings seemingly on the sidelines, the focus is on the return of Ché Adams to fill the void up front.

Since netting his first goal for Saints against Manchester City, Adams has gone from strength-to-strength playing a pivotal role in Hasenhüttl's attacking line-up.

After becoming the oldest player in Premier League history to win the Golden Boot last season, Vardy has continued to net goals for his beloved Leicester City.

Keeping Vardy at bay could be crucial if Saints are to maintain their perfect 2021 record.
