WHICH KIT WILL SAINTS BE WEARING?
Saints will be wearing their blue away kit for the first time in the Premier League this season.
WHAT’S AT STAKE?
The hosts are looking to make it seven unbeaten since the arrival of new manager Gary O’Neil in August.
Two early goals at Craven Cottage saw O’Neil’s side with a 2-1 advantage at half time but after conceding a penalty shortly after the break, the points were shared.
Hasenhüttl’s side go in search of a vital three points on their trip down the south coast as they look to escape the drop.
Romain Perraud’s goal upon 20 minutes catapulted Saints into the lead in an energetic first half at St Mary’s last time out, but a 64th minute equaliser from Declan Rice meant the points were shared in SO14.
Having not played each other in the Premier League since 2020, it’s a huge night on the south coast.
The Cherries are set to be without David Brooks, Lloyd Kelly and Ben Pearson, with Jack Stephens ineligible to face his parent club.
For the Saints, Armel Bella-Kotchap has been ruled out of the tie after dislocating his shoulder last time out against West Ham.
Tino Livramento and Roméo Lavia remain side-lined, while Theo Walcott and Ibrahima Diallo are a doubt due to illness.
Gary O’Neil: To follow.
Ralph Hasenhüttl: “I think you could see that he found immediately a very successful way of playing football with a very clear, demanding shape – clear automatism, what is for me always a sign of a manager who knows what he does and brings in immediately what is necessary. This is very impressive to watch.”
ONES TO WATCH
Dominic Solanke: Involved in five goals in eight Premier League appearances this season, the striker has played a pivotal role in Bournemouth’s resurgence under Gary O’Neil.
Sam Edozie: Making a short cameo in Saints’ draw with West Ham, the 19-year-old looked fierce on the ball and could be the difference when Saints visit Vitality Stadium on Wednesday.
