Martin: We had so many good moments
Southampton manager Russell Martin expressed his frustration at the result despite having pride in the performance following his side's draw at Coventry City in the Sky Bet Championship.
The hosts took the lead through Haji Wright on 50 minutes, following a first half which Saints dominated in terms of chances.
Martin turned to his substitutes bench in search of a response, which came 17 minutes later through Sam Edozie's first away goal of the season.
"I’m frustrated we didn’t win," said the manager. "We had so many good moments that should have end up in more, again. But we had more good moments than we did on Saturday, so I’m pleased with that.
"I have some real pride in the performance, some of the courage to play, some of the moves were really outstanding, the crowd were fantastic and showed their appreciation for the team’s performance away from home.
"The response of the team [to going behind] was great, the mentality, we never went under. Once we scored that goal I thought we’d go and get a winner and we looked really likely to. Then towards the end it became really open because they were throwing everything to win and so were we. We made really aggressive subs, because we don’t just want the point.
"[The unbeaten run] is something to be proud about. It’s not going to be the focus to just keep the run going because we want to win every game. We’re at home on Saturday and we’re feeling frustrated at only getting two points from the last two games. Saturday will be a good game, a tough challenge, but we’re in a good place and we just have to keep that going."
