Cyle Larin made his mark off the bench in a historic moment for co-hosts Canada, as he rescued his nation's first ever point at a World Cup.

In a moment of history at Toronto Stadium, Larin came on off the bench against Bosnia & Herzegovina to score his first ever goal at a World Cup - only his nation's third ever goal on the world stage - to salvage a 1-1 draw in Group B.

Saints' striker, who sealed a permanent deal with the club just eight days ago, started on the bench for Canada's tournament opener, and watched on as the lively hosts were pegged back by a first half Jovo Lukić goal.

Jesse Marsch turned to his bench in the second half and introduced Larin in the 76th minute to instant success, as the second-top Men's goalscorer in Canadian history added to his tally just two minutes later with a well-taken finish on the turn.

Larin's strike sent the stadium into raptures, and he could have scored a late winner to complete a fairytale story, but his impressive strike earned Canada's first ever point at a World Cup nonetheless.

The co-host nation have given themselves a strong start in Group B, as they next face Qatar on Thursday 18th June (11pm BST) and Switzerland on Wednesday 24th June (8pm BST).
