Jess Simpson earns PFA Player of the Month nomination
Southampton FC Women's Jess Simpson has been shortlisted for the PFA Fans' Barclays Women's Super League 2's January Player of the Month.
The left-back continued her 2025 form straight from the start of the new year, as she starred in Saints' milestone 4-0 win over Portsmouth at St Mary's Stadium.
Simpson scored the first WSL2 goal of 2026 in style, arriving late in the area to power home an emphatic finish that kick-started a stunning derby day victory under the lights.
Saints bounced back later in the month with a statement win over Crystal Palace at home, as Simpson again featured in another impressive home win.
This is Jess’ second monthly nomination of the season, after she was shortlisted for the WSL2 award back in October.
