As part of Saints As One, our joint initiative with Southampton Football Club, we have expanded our virtual support of primary-age pupils, helping young people stay active in both mind and body during this period of school closures.

PE Lessons

We are now offering free PE lessons for primary-age children. A new class is available every Thursday morning for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils.

The lessons have been created using a skills-based curriculum. All you need is access to a device and a bit of space to move around!

In the first lockdown, we created a series of workbooks filled with Maths and English lessons all featuring Southampton FC twists. We’ve now updated these for the new school year.

Our English workbook is suitable for all primary-age pupils, and can be used to improve a number of written skills, including vocabulary, spelling and grammar. It also taps into students’ creative sides by asking them to write a story about Southampton FC.

We also have two Maths workbooks that can be used to support home learning. These cover topics including place value, fractions and decimals, geometry and statistics. The first is aimed at pupils in Years 3 and 4; the second at pupils in Years 5 and 6.

To keep young people active throughout this time, we are sharing our collection of Fast Blast exercise videos. These videos are used in our Premier League Primary Stars schools around Southampton to engage students between class based lessons. See below one of the five-minute high intensity workout videos that can be used to start the day off right or for an active break throughout the day.

From Maths and English to PSHE and PE, the Premier League Primary Stars website has plenty to offer during this challenging time.
