Coaches of Tomorrow returns

Our Coaches of Tomorrow programme, in partnership with Starling, is an initiative designed to support more women into grassroots football coaching.

Throughout a 10-session programme, participants benefit from bespoke learning provided by Southampton FC’s skilled coach development staff. Thanks to support from Starling, Principal Partner of Southampton FC Women, the programme is free of charge.

The programme requires no prior football knowledge; it's designed to equip new coaches with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to build confidence and start coaching in the community.

Lucy, a previous participant, told us: "Being part of the Coaches of Tomorrow programme was a fantastic experience. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to make a difference in grassroots football but maybe they've worried that they don't have the knowledge or experience to be able to coach.

"The Southampton FC staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable. There are no expectations. It's all about learning together as a group of like-minded women."

Over the previous three season's of Coaches of Tomorrow, 70 women have been given the opportunity to take part in the programme and go on to become a grassroots football coach. We're delighted to announce that there will be a further 25 places made available for the 2025/26 season.

The purpose behind Coaches of Tomorrow is to empower women's and girls football by supporting more women into coaching roles where they can act as a role model and inspire more women and girls to get involved in football. It's just one of the ways in which we're striving to have a positive impact on women's and girls' football. Find out more about our partnership here.
