Bednarek plays duration as Poland exit the competition
Despite playing his second full 90 of the tournament, Southampton and Poland's Jan Bednarek fell to two defeats from two at the European Championships, losing 3-1 to Austria.
Bednarek continued his full 90 on matchday one with another start as part of a Polish back five on Friday afternoon in Berlin.
The Poles were put under pressure almost immediately, going behind inside ten minutes through Feyenoord captain Gernot Trauner's near-post header, as Austria gained the perfect start.
But against the run of play Poland were right back into the game, Dortmund's Krzysztof Piątek letting one fly from 25-yards on the half-hour mark to level.
Ultimately it wasn't to be for Biało-czerwoni; Christoph Baumgartner and a penalty from Marko Arnautović confirming a second successive defeat.
France's draw with the Netherlands later that evening meant Poland were the first nation to exit the competition.
Poland and Bednarek's final outing of the group stages is a clash with France on Tuesday (5pm BST).
