Bazunu earns clean sheet in dominant Ireland win
Southampton's Gavin Bazunu and Ryan Manning featured for the duration as Republic of Ireland played their penultimate game of EURO 2024 qualifying in Gibraltar.
Although a place at the tournament is no longer up for grabs, Stephen Kenny's side produced a commanding display at Estádio Algarve in Portugal against an inferior Gibraltar side.
Goals from Evan Ferguson, Michael Johnston, Matt Doherty and Callum Robinson sealed the 4-0 win on Monday night, with Bazunu and Manning both completing the full 90 on their way to a clean sheet.
Fellow Saint Will Smallbone was an unused substitute after featuring for 70 minutes of Friday night's defeat to Greece.
Earlier in the day, Nigeria's Joe Aribo started and played 75 minutes of the Super Eagles' 3-2 friendly win in Mozambique.
Terem Moffi and Frank Onyeka flipped the game for the visitors after Geny Catamo had given The Mambas an early lead, before Moses Simon netted a third in first half stoppage time.
The hosts, despite being down to ten since the 38th minute, put up a fight in the second half, but were unable to get a third at Estádio Municipal de Albufeira.
