Barratt and David Wilson Homes raise epic £110,000 for Saints Foundation
Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southampton’s charity dinner raised a staggering £110,000, which we'll use to support vulnerable people in Southampton.
Guests from Barratt and David Wilson Homes joined together at St Mary’s Stadium on Friday 22nd October in support of Saints Foundation, raising funds to help sustain our many community projects.
Special guests included former Saints manager Gordon Strachan, who donated signed retro shirts for the live auction, and Saints Foundation participant Callum, who spoke to guests about how the charity’s SaintsAbility project has increased his confidence and helped him defy his disabilities to become a budding footballer.
Glen O’Nion, Finance Director Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southampton, said: "Earlier this year, BDW Southampton contributed £10,000 to the Saints Ability project and we were invited to see first-hand how those sessions are incredibly important.
"Not only do they encourage physical activity, but crucially, they also provide opportunities to socialise – which is all the more important as we all recover from this difficult time. We know the donations raised this evening will make a huge difference."
Jazz Bhatti, Saints Foundation Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, said: "We are hugely grateful to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for raising such a staggering total for the charity. £110,000 is an incredible amount of money and we’ll use it support the most vulnerable people in our community.
"Given the vital fundraising opportunities we missed out on during the pandemic, it’s brilliant to see local businesses coming through to support us, so we can continue to support those who need it most."
Barratt and David Wilson Homes – the leading UK housebuilder – has made Saints Foundation its nominated Charity of the Year for 2020 and 2021, and has pledged to continue its fundraising activities in 2022.
