Dom Ballard has been shortlisted for Premier League 2 Player of the Season for 2022/23.
The young striker enjoyed a prolific campaign, finishing joint-third in the scoring charts in PL2 Division 2 with 16 goals. Contributing a further four assists, the 18-year-old played a pivotal role as Saints lifted the league title.
Also recognised at senior level, Ballard enjoyed a memorable first team debut by scoring in Southampton’s 3-0 win at Cambridge in the Carabao Cup.
The Saints youngster is one of eight nominees for the annual accolade, and is up against Oscar Bobb, Carlos Borges, Adedire Mebude (all Man City), Reyes Cleary (West Brom), Mateo Joseph Fernandez (Leeds), Alfie Gilchrist (Chelsea) and Jack Wells-Morrison (Crystal Palace).
The shortlist was drawn up by the Premier League's Football Development Panel, who will determine the winner, which will be announced at the PL Youth Conference Awards evening on Monday 22nd May 2023.
