Aribo: We have to dust ourselves off

Southampton's Joe Aribo cut a frustrated figure following his side's 2-1 Sky Bet Championship defeat by Hull City at St Mary's Stadium.

Visitors Hull went into the break two goals ahead, Anass Zaroury and Fábio Carvalho on the scoresheet.

Substitute Aribo halved the deficit on 88 minutes, but the hosts couldn't find a leveller despite the pressure.

"Very frustrating," said the 27-year-old. "First of all it’s not the result that we wanted but I thought we didn’t play at our best and what we know we’re capable of, so it’s very frustrating.

"The game was very tactical, it was about who was going to take the chances and capitalise on a mistake, which they did. They made us struggle to play a bit and their game plan worked.

"As the game was going on we felt another one could come, but the first one came along too late. If there was a bit more time maybe we could have had an equaliser.

"I think the good thing for us is the fact the games come thick and fast. We have to dust ourselves off and go again on Saturday because it’s a big one. Every single game we’ve got to look to get the three points, that’s our aim."
