Southampton forward Ché Adams was on target in Scotland’s penultimate EURO 2024 warm-up match, as the Tartan Army continued their preparations for the summer tournament with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Gibraltar.

Adams arrived as a substitute midway through the second half with Scotland already ahead, before his clinical volley put the gloss on the win five minutes from time.

It was the striker’s first international goal in two years, and his sixth in 30 caps for his country.

With fellow forward Lyndon Dykes ruled out of the EUROs through injury, that leaves Adams and Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland as the only recognised No 9s in Steve Clarke’s provisional squad.

Saints teammate Stuart Armstrong continues to work on his recovery from injury and hopes to be fit for the summer, but was unable to feature against Gibraltar in Faro, Portugal.

Scotland conclude their preparations with another friendly against Finland at Hampden Park on Friday night, after which Clarke must submit his final squad of no more than 26 players.

The Scots then face hosts Germany on the opening night of the tournament on Friday 14th June (8pm BST), before further group games against Switzerland (Wednesday 19th June, 8pm BST) and Hungary (Sunday 23rd June, 8pm BST).
