Adams awarded Saints' opener against Coventry
Southampton’s first goal in the recent home win over Coventry has been awarded to Ché Adams.
Initially credited to Kyle Walker-Peters, the defender’s 25-yard shot clearly deflected in off teammate Adams, who later added Saints’ second goal in a 2-1 victory.
It means the striker moves on to 18 goals for the season in all competitions, 16 of which have come in the Sky Bet Championship.
Adams’s recent hot streak now stands at six goals in five games and 15 in his last 24 appearances, taking his Saints career tally to 49 ahead of Saturday’s trip to Cardiff.
