Legends Big Bike Challenge

Join us and take on the challenge

2021's challenge is now underway and entries are closed. Good luck to all the riders!

This year, we’re challenging riders to a solo cycling challenge throughout the month of June. You just need to choose a Saints legend and cycle the distance from their place of birth to St Mary’s Stadium, raising £1 per mile completed to support the work of Saints Foundation.

We’ve strived to make this year’s challenge is accessible to anyone, regardless of their cycling experience. The legends we've selected for you to choose from are as follows:

  • Lawrie McMenemy: Born in Gateshead, 322 miles from St Mary’s
  • Glenn Cockerill: Born in Grimsby, 219 miles from St Mary’s
  • Ted Bates: Born in Thetford, Norfolk, 170 miles from St Mary’s
  • Mick Channon: Born in Orcheston, Wiltshire, 36 miles from St Mary’s
  • Terry Paine: Born in Winchester, 13 miles from St Mary’s
Experienced riders may decide to ride the distance of multiple legends. In total, you could choose to ride a total of 760 miles – an advance on last year’s epic 600-mile Big Bike Challenge target.
