Saints will be aiming for an instant response a last week's defeat after back-to-back victories earlier across the league and cup.

A heavily rotated side, due to fixture congestion across the academy, were undone against Fulham despite taking a 2-1 lead into half time with goals from Nick Oyekunle and Tommy-Lee Higgs.

The young Saints' overall upturn in form has seen them rise to eighth place, with victory potentially taking them up to sixth in the table

Leicester City are one place and two points below Southampton in the table, with an intermittent spell of form at the moment.

The young Foxes were 2-0 winners over Brighton in their last outing, with goals coming from Amani Richards and Trey Nyoni.

However, they have been unable to record back-to-back victories at all this season across all competitions.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Earlier this season a strong Saints side were 6-1 winners on the road against Leicester.

Both Kamari Doyle and Sam Amo-Ameyaw scored a brace each whilst Jem Hewlett and Will Merry completed the rout.
