Saints play their first away league game since December, as they come fresh off the back of another impressive display in the FA Youth Cup.

Under the lights at St Mary's Stadium, they knocked out league rivals Fulham with a 3-2 win to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.

It was a welcome return to winning ways after a narrow defeat against West Ham in their most recent league fixture, and a loss against Aston Villa in the Under-18 Premier League Cup

Saints reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup earlier in the week

Aston Villa ended a four-game winless run last week as they knocked Saints out of the Under-18 Premier League Cup.

Goals from Ewan Simpson, Charlie Lutz, Rory Wilson, and Omari Kellyman without reply saw them advance with a 4-0 win at Staplewood Campus.

PREVIOUS MEETING

This is the fourth time that both sides have met this season with knockout ties in both cup competitions alongside their league outings.

After playing out a dramatic opening day draw in the league, Saints ran out 4-1 winners at Villa Park thanks two braces from Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Tyler Dibling in the FA Youth Cup.

However, Villa hit back a week ago with their victory in the PL Cup at Staplewood Campus.
