A tough test awaits in Dartford as Southampton FC Women head into their final league game of 2022, taking on the top-of-the-league side.

Despite a convincing 3-0 Continental Cup loss to Reading in their previous game, Saints are still unbeaten in the league since their first game of the season, and will be hoping to cement their position at the higher end of the table before the Christmas break.

London City’s previous league game saw them beat Sheffield United 2-0 away from home, before they pushed Barclays Women’s Super League Brighton to the end in the Continental Cup, coming away with a 2-1 defeat.

Important points for whichever side can come away with them, as the top half of the table gets tighter each week, both Marieanne Spacey-Cale and London City’s Melissa Phillips will be hoping their side can put in the right performance.

With London City Lionesses sporting their blue home kit, Saints will be wearing their red and white home kit at Princes Park.

Saints and London City Lionesses met in a pre-season friendly ahead of our promotion-winning season in the FA Women’s National League, with Lucia Kendall and Sophia Pharoah scoring in a 2-2 draw at Snows Stadium.

“London City Lionesses have made a strong start to the season, and will want to continue that run in front of home fans.

“With Reading, the team had the opportunity to test themselves at a different level and adapt the way they can play; we’ve taken that into training this week.

“We know the level we’ll need to be at from that first whistle, and the girls are looking forward to another challenging fixture.”

Tickets are available to purchase online at £5 for Adults and £4 for concessions.
